Vapor Body

Overview

The vessel is supported on a structure using a unique support lug arrangement having three continuous rings i.e., top ring, mid-level ring & bottom ring with gussets/stiffeners. This supporting arrangement was verified by finite element analysis by computing induced stresses in support and at vessel junction for normal operating, full vacuum, maloperation and hydrotest conditions and concluded that these stresses at support to vessel junction is within allowable limits.

The Vessel is supporting multiple platforms attached to cone/shell. Considering substantial lift weight of 190 tonnes, and the distribution of the weight the lifting trunnions had to be located carefully. FEA was also performed to check for local stresses around trunnions for lifting operation as the equipment was to be lifted in dressed up condition with only a few attachments not erected.

The structural analysis of the platforms was carried out. FEA was performed to compute local stresses in vessel and check adequacy of clips.
