Gas Treating Facility
Gas Treating Facility
Overview
A Gas treating facility located in New Mexico, USA with a capacity of treating 220 MMscfd of Natural Gas. Natural gas received from the field is treated to remove Acid Gas (CO2 and H2S) and water. The treated gas is compressed and sent off site via pipeline. The plant consists of a Sweet Gas compression unit, Inlet Gas Compression unit, Amine unit, TEG Dehydration unit, Acid Gas flare and Acid Gas injection unit and a Hot oil unit to name just a few.
New Horizons scope of work broadly included the complete engineering analysis and 3D modeling & drawings for piping, structural steel, & civil foundation
- 150+ P&IDs excluding vendor packages
- 150+ equipment including a Slug Catcher, flares, Compressors (6 different services), Tanks, packages, vessels including filters, Air Cooled Heat exchangers and pumps.
- 19 Piping Material specifications to ASME B31.3 and 2 to ASME B31.8 with pipe sizes ranging from ½” NB to 36” NB. Materials ranging from Carbon steel, NACE compliant Carbon steel and SS304L.
- 5 major pipe racks – 2 nos 3-tier racks (20’ wide x 1000’ long and 15’ wide and 500’ long, a 10’ wide rack with 2 tiers and another with a single tier and a 10’ wide sleeper rack with 2 tiers.
- 12 skids – 7 Double decker and 5 Single decker skids of 15’ width varying lengths.
- 2000+ Lines (400 Critical lines requiring rigorous analysis, 150 lines with simplified analysis and the rest with visual check only).
- 70+ Civil foundations
- Dynamic analysis is done for Reciprocating Compressor foundations.
- Helical piles are used for all pipe racks, all skids and some vendor packages. Concrete foundation for all other equipment.
- Direct coordination with the PE for approval of the structural and foundation drawings and calculations.
- Construction activity is in full swing now.
Software used:
